Pulleys are devices that enable the smooth running of rigs that have moving ropes. Any time a rope is placed into a rig that involves moving a Performer by mechanical advantage, reverse system, on a pendulum or slackline rig, pulleys will need to be placed into the system wherever the rope changes direction. Using pulleys is the key way to reduce unwanted drag or resistance in a rig. Resistance adds unnecessary work when operating the rig, and placing pulleys into the system reduces this, and increases the effectiveness of the rigging.
